The Russian special envoy for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan, saying that the recognition of the Islamic Emirate depends on its internal politics.
The top Russian diplomat said that he has not seen evidence about the killing of Ayman-al-Zawahiri, the leader of the al-Qaeda network.
He made the remarks to the Russian Sputnik News Agency.
“The formation of an inclusive government is the first step for recognition by the international community, which includes girls’ education, work opportunities for women and others,” Kabulov said as quoted by Sputnik Dari.
“The international community and major powers know better that enduring stability and peace is related to the formation of inclusive government—a government which can represent all activities from Afghanistan,” said Sayed Javad Sijadi, an international relations analyst.
“(The government) is inclusive because all people of Afghanistan are included in it. Our Pashtun brothers, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazar are there. It is not necessary that everyone should be a minister,” said Sayed Zakirullah Hashimi, a political analyst.
The Russian envoy for Afghanistan downplayed the US announcement of killing Ayman-al-Zawahiri, saying that the US did not show any evidence to prove this issue.
“The government in Kabul has not acknowledged it yet and it has not officially asked the Americans for the evidence. The statement of Washington is not the real matter for us. We want evidence,” Kabulov said.
Earlier, the heads of the SCO in their 22nd summit stressed the need for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.—Tolo News
