An important meeting of the Health Department was held under the chairmanship of Health Minister DrAzraPechohoSindh. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Health Secretaryand officials of Finance and Planning Department, andsecretaries of Works and Services.Commissioner Karachi and the concerned Deputy Commissioner joined in through video link. Briefing was given on development projects of health department in the meeting After Karachi, Infectious Diseases Hospitals are being set up in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, MirpurKhas and ShaheedBenazirabad, Minister of Health was told. Hospitals with 200 beds will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 10,000 million. Land Utilization should be written in 3 days for land for Infectious Diseases Hospital. Chief Secretary Sindh directs the concerned Deputy Commissioner The Sindh government has given priority to the health sector in the budget, saidthe Chief Secretary The Sindh Public Service Commission should be written to recruit 2,200 doctors and 1,400 staff nurses in the health department. Chief Secretary Sindh directs Health Secretary Recruitment in the health department from grade 1 to grade 4 should be done under the district recruitment committee. 15,000 non-technical and 500 technical staff up to grade 5 to 15 should be recruited through IBA, Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah directed Health Secretary In the current financial year 2020-21, 87 development projects will be completed. Bio-safety laboratory level 3 will be set up in 6 hospitals of the province. Level 2 of 18 biosafety laboratories in different districts will also be upgraded.
