In an ambush against the security forces on the third consecutive day, at least four persons including three men in uniform were martyred after around a dozen miscreants attacked a security post in Kohat division Wednesday.
At least five Cops were martyred and around two dozen others received critical wounds, it may be recalled, when an Improvised Explosives Device (IED) blasted a Police van in Bajaur tribal district on Monday morning. The Policemen were going to provide security to the Polio vaccination team.
Likewise unknown terrorists launched another assault on the security forces providing cover to the Polio vaccination team leaving at least three cops martyred and equal number of others seriously wounded this time in Bannu district of Khyber on Tuesday.
According to the initial reports, more than 10 terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons launched an attack on the Lachi Toll Plaza and security Check-post leaving four persons including three policemen dead.
“At least four people including three police personnel were martyred in a terrorist attack near Lachi Toll Plaza on the Kohat Indus Highway”. The Police and the district administration said. Heavy contingents of the police and Pakistan Army cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to hunt down the terrorists.
The attackers however, effectively managed to slip from the site after committing the crime.
