Rana Sanaullah indictment in drugs case deferred

PML-N senior leader Rana Sanaullah on Saturday said that unprincipled behavior of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is unforgivable and asked the party to accept its mistakes.
Talking to media person after a court hearing here on Saturday, Rana Sanaullah said the government was caught red handed rigging election in Daska and termed the recent verdict of Supreme Court (SC) last nail in coffin of the incumbent rulers.
The PML-N leader said that Pakistan cannot make progress unless votes of people are respected. Right now there is no rule of law or supremacy of constitution in the country, he claimed.
Rana Sanaullah alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar were directly involved in rigging and demanded to terminate 20 presiding officers who went missing.
He said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will continue its fight against the government.
Talking about internal differences between members of the opposition alliance, he said that PPP’s decision to seek help of government allies for seat of Senate Opposition Leader was wrong.
Ranaullah Sanaullah, however, said that PPP’s opinion on resignation as members of assemblies is fully respected. He said that the Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s party has its own take on the matter.
“PPP has its own opinion on resigning from assemblies,” he said and added that the PML-N fully respect it.
Sanaullah also said that the country will not work unless its Constitution is respected and followed. He added that the country will only move forward if people’s votes are respected.
Earlier, his indictment in the case was deferred once again due to the transfer of judge Khalid Bashir.
Sanaullah was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force on July 1, 2019 on charges of possession of drugs. It claimed to have seized 15kg of heroin from his car.
The PML-N leader has denied the charge. Sanaullah’s wife suggested the drugs were planted in the car.
