Inaugurates two new Corona vaccination centres in City

Covid vaccination centres across Punjab will remain closed on the first and 2nd day of Eidul Fitr, said provincial health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, on Tuesday.
The minister said that all the vaccination centres across the province are currently operational and masses are being vaccinated against Coronavirus.
Dr Yasmin said after strict adherence to the Covid standard operating procedures (SOPs), vaccination is 2nd most important step to take.
Commenting on the oxygen issue in the province, the minister underlined the need of the plantation to deal with the environmental change and added that only in Lahore more than 1.1 million saplings have been planted in the last 2 and half years.
Earlier, the Punjab government had decided to double staff at the vaccination centres established across the province in the wake of increasing Covid cases.
Talking to journalists, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid had said that vaccination staff is being doubled at the centres to cope with the prevailing situation of the pandemic.
She had said that the number of vaccination centres was also being increased to facilitate the masses.
Meanwhile, the Punjab health Department has made operational two new vaccination centres in the provincial capital including Central Park Teaching Hospital and THQ Kahna, on Tuesday. The Health Minister visited these centres to personally monitor the working.
The minister was accompanied by Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Ms Sarah Aslam and Commissioner Lahore Division Capt (r) Usman Younis during the visit.
Dr Yasmin reviewed vaccination arrangements at the centre. Overall, 35 counters have been set up at both the centres with cumulatively capacity to vaccinate over 3,000 people per day.
The staff of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is serving at both the centres. Secretary P&SH Department briefed the minister on the arrangements.
The health minister said: “These two centre will facilitate the people Ferozpur Road, Kahna and adjacent areas.
People are turning up in large numbers at these two centres. We have adequate amount of vaccine available at these two centres.
People will be vaccinated at these two centres on daily basis. We are increasing the number of vaccination centres in Punjab.
So far we have vaccinated over 1.9 million people in Punjab. The vaccination process is ongoing at a very good pace across the province.”
