Approves Corona vaccination for media persons across province

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday regretted that the past governments encouraged and promoted nepotism in the garb of merit and set records of exhibitory projects along with promoting the culture of corruption, intimidation and commendations.
The chief minister said that the exhibitory projects proved proverbial ‘white elephants’ as these schemes were started without a prudent approach and this resulted in burdening the exchequer.
These projects failed to provide any substantial relief or benefits to the people, he continued and regretted the past governments’ policies exhausted the exchequer and people faced the consequences.
On the other side, the incumbent government has launched projects according to genuine public needs and identification of priorities, he maintained.
The chief minister said the public representatives are also consulted and the wrong tradition of the one-man show has been done away with. Similarly, ministers are powerful and every job is done with due deliberation, he added.
Meanwhile, the looters’ attempt to hide behind the PDM, for saving their ill-gotten money, has been frustrated.
He mentioned that the parties included in the PDM had minted money through corruption in their respective tenures and people now demand from the past rulers to give details of the money spent on various exhibitory projects. These elements are not only looters but answerable to the people, he emphasised.
The incumbent government is the most transparent government in the history of Pakistan and nothing wrong has been allowed.
The foundation of new Pakistan has been laid under the leadership of PM Imran Khan and the country is moving in the right direction, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved recommendations of the cabinet committee for corona to vaccinate the journalists across Punjab. The CM said the media persons will be vaccinated on a priority basis after eid.
He asked the health department to take the necessary steps and the establishment of vaccination centres in press clubs be reviewed.
ON the other hand, the chief minister said that the decision to hold lockdown during Eid holidays has been made in the larger public interest to save the citizens from corona disease.
CM Buzdar asked the citizens to remain careful as line departments have been instructed to take action in case of any violation.
The restrictions are aimed at saving the lives of the citizens and the situation will be improved if precautions are fully observed, he added.
The chief minister made it clear that violation of SOPs will not be tolerated because it will result in increasing cases and this could lead to extending temporary restrictions.
People are needed to remain fully careful and they should follow guidelines to remain safe from the virus, he advised.
