Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani has said that a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted to check the menace of corruption.
Addressing a review meeting of law and order situation through video link conference, he said that land mafia should be eradicated from across Punjab without any discrimination, adding that strict implementation of Tenancy Act should be ensured.
“Take all possible measures to maintain law and order and do not compromise on security measures. Officers should supervise and monitor large processions and gatherings personnel.”
He said that small matters should not be considered as insignificant and no negligence should be shown towards disappearance of young children. Inam Ghani declared that stern action should be taken against the sexual crime against children without delay.
“The officers should be rated on the basis of their performance and SHOs should be posted on the basis of their performance, approach and behaviour towards public.”
The IGP directed that ensure free and speedy registration of FIRs. Referring to speedy registration of cases, Inam Ghani said that preventive action should be taken against criminal elements. Use state-of-the-art technology to create flawless cases to punish the perpetrators severely.
Take steps to get reports from Punjab Forensic Lab as soon as possible and officers should investigate serious cases themselves. The IGP also expressed satisfaction over the overall law and order situation in the province. Senior police officers and RPOs, DPOs participated through video link.
