In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Delimitation Commission has proposed major changes in the assembly constituencies.
Baramulla has got two new constituencies – Kunzer and Tangmarg – while the existing San-grama constituency has been merged with Tang-marg, the report said quoting the proposal of the Delimitation Commission.
The commission has proposed a new constitu-ency Trehgam in Kupwara district and added Kral-pora tehsil to Karnah constituency.
Similarly, Shangus constituency has been di-vided between Anantnag East and Larnoo constitu-encies in south Kashmir. Hom Shali Bug constitu-ency has also been obliterated from Kulgam district.
Chanpora is the new constituency comprising the whole Chanpora tehsil in Srinagar district, the report said. Meanwhile, the National Conference Member of Parliament Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi said that the delimitation panel has thrown the recommendations put forth by the National Con-ference to the wind and the Commission has gone by its own will and wish.—KMS
