Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid joined the wedding of a thalassemia patient and said with proper care and treatment, patients can lead normal lives.
The Health Minister congratulated the couple and prayed for a happy and blissful life. Present in the event were Administrative Thalassemia Society Syed Adnan Jamil, Abdul Munim Khan, voluteers and thalassemia patients.
The Health Minister said, “It is extremely satisfying to attend the wedding of Hamza Mushtaq who have bravely fought Thalassemia and developed a career as a professional in banking.
Today many major and minor thalassemia patients are living normal lives and getting married. Around 1995, the average age of a thalassemia patient was to 12 to 16 years. We are providing free treatment to thalassemia patients.
The facility of free treatment to thalassemia patients has been provided for in Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat card.
