Hafeezullah Niazi, the father of Hassaan KhanNiazi, PTI leader and party Chairman Imran Khan’s nephew, on Mondayfiled a petition in the Supreme Court (SC), seeking the court’sdeclaration that the arrest and trial of his son by a military court was‘unconstitutional’.
Arguing that there was no provision in the constitution for the trial ofcivilians in military courts and that it contravened Article 10-A of theconstitution, Hafeezullah, in his petition, also requested the court todeclare the Army Act and Official Secrets Act ‘unconstitutional’.—NNI
