The High Court of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the illegal detention of three persons booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the bench of Justice Sanjay Dhar quashed the detention under PSA against Bilal Ahmed Hastiwala, Yawar Rasheed Ganai and Bilal Ahmed Butt.
The court also directed the authorities to release them forthwith. On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in a statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the UN to play its role in the release of all illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails of India and IIOJK. It deplored that the Indian authorities have unlawfully detained thousands of innocent Kashmiris for demanding their right to self-determination.—KMS
