Former minister for religious affairs, Senator TalhaMahmood has said that calligraphy is a completely Islamic art that begins with divine revelation.
This was stated by him along with NaeedManzoor as chief guest of exhibition of Islamic calligraphy works of Aftab Ahmed Khan (late) organized at the Punjab Arts Council in connection with the celebration of EidMilad-ul-Nabi.
Special guest Senator TalhaMehmood said that calligraphy was a completely Islamic art that begins with divine revelation.
The scribes of revelation are highly regarded in Islam and there are 42 of them. The purpose of this exhibition of Islamic calligraphy is to spread the message of love to the Holy Prophet.
These artworks of Quranic verses decorated with different colors are attracting the citizens. All the artists have expressed their great love for the religion of Islam through their works of art through beautiful colors. I pray that Allah Ta’ala will increase his passion more.
NaheedManzoor said on this occasion that the name of writing the words in the colors of aesthetic taste and passion with a pen on the canvas is calligraphy. When the calligrapher borrows these words from Quran, Hadith and spirituality, this art is connected with the ancient traditions of calligraphy.
