Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority has signed an MOU with a Korean organization for drinking water projects in Punjab. The MOU signing ceremony between the Korean organization ATR and the Punjab Aab Pak Authority was held. Syed Zahid Aziz, Chief Executive Officer on behalf of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority and Ms. Yeonwoo Park, Managing Partner from Korean organization ATR, signed the agreement. In the light of the MOU, the Korean organization will commence work on more than 350 safe drinking water projects in Punjab, Zahid Aziz said, adding, the operation and maintenance of those projects will also be carried out by the Korean organization for ten years. Syed Zahid Aziz further added that the Korean Institute will also organize a training program for the capacity building of staff related to the water sector and it will further help in introducing green and innovative technology to achieve sustainability in water sector. Zahid Aziz welcomed the cooperation of an experienced international organization in the completion of water projects in Punjab.
Moreover, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Tuesday sealed more than 40 properties in an extensive effort to combat unlawful constructions and unauthorized commercial operations. On directions of Commissioner Lahore and DG Lahore Development Authority (LDA), teams conducted operations in various areas, leading to the sealing of over 40 properties. A crackdown on non-payment of commercialization fees in Allama Iqbal Town resulted in the sealing of 20 properties. The Director Town Planning oversaw the operations targeting encroachments in Allama Iqbal Town.
