Caretaker Minister for Information, Minority Affairs, and Social Protection, President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmad Shah, highlighted the enduring legacy of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, during a seminar titled “Jinnah: A Timeless Legacy” held at Sindh Madressatul Islam University.
Minister Ahmad Shah expressed concern that despite numerous efforts in Quaid-e-Azam’s name, the nation has not fully realized its vision. He emphasized the need for alignment with Quaid’s ideals and also emphasized the importance of practical actions. Shah acknowledged Quaid-e-Azam’s practical approach, underscoring his dedication to every task. He criticized historical figures, stating that unionists were once slaves to the British, and feudal lords remained loyal to colonial powers. He speculated that if Quaid-e-Azam were present today, he would express displeasure over the actions of the current management system. The Shah urged the audience, especially young students, to emulate the Quaid’s commitment to excellence in their respective fields. He emphasized the significance of learning not only in educational institutions but also from common people and diverse experiences. He encouraged the students by giving examples of Past heroes. He said people who are not born with a golden spoon have better fighting spirit. He highlighted that world squash champion Jahangir Khan was born into a common family.
A player like Jahangir Khan played 5500 matches and won them all. This is the common man’s struggle. He said that Javed Miandad, and Moin Akhtar, were big names in their respective fields due to practical struggle. Encouraging mutual collaboration, Minister Muhammad Ahmad Shah urged attendees to share thoughts and ideas, fostering a collective journey toward progress. The audience, comprised of teachers and students, responded with enthusiastic applause. From the seminar, Professor Dr. Jafar Ahmed and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mujeebuddin Sehrai Memon also expressed their thoughts about the personality and character of Quaid-e-Azam in the light of historical facts.
