LAHORE – Mohsin Naqvi has been elected unopposed as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), sources confirmed to Pakistan Observer.
Naqvi was appointed to the coveted role after PCB Governing Board meeting presided by PCB Chief Election Commissioner Shah Khawar presided as 10 members picked media mogul for role of the cricket governing body.
Election Commissioner Shah Khawar oversees election process with diligence. Naqvi was elevated to the role for after nod of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
Naqvi remains in light as caretaker chief minister of Punjab, and it strengthened his chances to head Pakistan Cricket.

With formal transfer of authority, all eyes are on Mr Naqvi to steer PCB towards sustained success and growth after turbulent times.
His stint at PCB comes weeks after Zaka Ashraf stepped down. Eariler, Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick also resigned from their respective positions.
