RAWALPINDI – Top Commanders of Pakistan Army showed dismay over highly deplorable allegations of Army interference in General Elections at 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) held at GHQ in Rawalpindi.

A press released shared by ISPR said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday presided huddle and Commanders deplored maligning armed forces with unsubstantiated allegations of interference.

The forum appreciated efforts of the civil administration, LEAs, and security forces for providing assistance during elections despite overwhelming odds.

Military’s media wing said COAS and commanders highlighted that the armed forces provided a security environment for the February 8 election as per the given mandate, and had nothing to do with the electoral process.

The forum however expressed dismay “that some vested small segments of polity and media especially social media have been maligning the Armed Forces of Pakistan with unsubstantiated allegations of interference which is highly deplorable.”

‘Focus of such vested elements was on creating political instability’

Army called it unfortunate, saying that the entire focus of such vested elements was on creating political instability and uncertainty by attempting to scapegoat others for their own failings. The CCC urged for following due legal processes with evidence and proof rather than resorting to unconstitutional and uncalled for “baseless political rhetoric and emotional outbursts.”

The forum reiterated that those involved in terrorism, along with their supporters and collaborators, acting under the influence of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan, will face the full force of the state.

Army Cheif Asim Munir instructed commanders to maintain the gains made in the fight against terrorism and militancy.

He further emphasized the need for field commanders to uphold high standards of professionalism, operational readiness, and motivation during operations, as well as to strive for excellence in training. Conference participants expressed concern about the situation of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They condemned India’s human rights violations and vowed that Pakistan would continue to support Kashmiris politically, diplomatically, and morally. Top brass also expressed solidarity with Palestinians who are facing oppression by Israeli forces.

COAS stated that the Pakistani nation stands firmly behind the Palestinian people, offering them unwavering diplomatic, moral, and political support. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the principled stance of the Palestinians for a lasting resolution to their issue.
