The Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi has announced the results of the annual examinations for the Commerce Group of the Intermediate Part-I for the year 2023. According to details, a total of 35,432 candidates registered for the Commerce Regular Group examinations, out of which 34,198 appeared.
Among these, 14,639 candidates passed all seven papers, 6,770 passed six papers, 4,279 passed five papers, 2,848 passed four papers, 2,024 passed three papers, 1,672 passed two papers, and 1,290 candidates achieved success in one paper. The results have been uploaded on the Board’s official website www.biek.edu.pk. Additionally, students can also access their results through the official Android app of the Board, available for download by searching “BIEK” on the Google Play Store.
In light of the recommendations of the Fact Finding Committee formed on the directives of the Interboard Chairman, a grading system of up to 15 percent has been introduced for students in the Intermediate Part-I Commerce Regular Group papers of Principal of Accounting, Principal of Commerce, Principal of Economics, and Business Mathematics.
Prior to this, due to the rigorous marking and the ratio of MCQs in the papers, there was a decreasing trend in the proportion of successful candidates in some places in the Commerce Group papers. As a result, the Chairman of the Interboard had ordered the formation of the Fact Finding Committee.
It is worth noting that earlier, a Fact Finding Committee was formed by the Chief Minister of Sindh / Controlling Authority Sindh Education Boards in response to complaints from students regarding the results of the Science Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and General Science groups.
This committee had recommended giving up to 15% grace marks to students in the four subjects of the Science Group. Following the Science Group, both groups of students have benefited equally from giving up to 15% grace marks in four subjects of the Commerce Regular Group as well. Furthermore, revised mark sheets for Science Group students will also be sent to colleges next week.
