A meeting of the top moon sighting body is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, to determine the sighting of the Shawwal moon.

The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and will be chaired by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad. Members of Ruet body, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Pakistan Meteorological Department, and the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), will participate in the meeting.

Eid Holidays in Pakistan: Ramadan 2024 is winding down to an end and anticipation starts building for Eidul Fitr 2024.

A notification was shared online, suggesting four holidays for government employees on occasion of Eid ul Fitr but the federal government warned people not to share the fake notification.

It said “In continuation of cabinet division’s circular, it is for general information that the prime minister is please to declare 9 April 2024 to 12th April 2024 (Tuesday to Friday) as public holiday for Eid ul Fitr.”

Interior Ministry spokesperson clarified that viral notification is fake, and requested people not to share it in groups.
