Pakistan’s campaign in ICC mega event got off to a rocky start with a shocking loss in a super over. This defeat prompted Pakistan team management to consider changes to their lineup for future games.
One expected change is the removal of Azam Khan due to his poor performance against the USA, where he returned to pavilion on a golden duck and didn’t take up wicketkeeping duties. Azam Khan’s T20I career is yet to see any major achievement. He appeared in 14 games so far, scoring only 88 runs at an average of 8.80.
The power hitter has been dismissed for a duck four times and is yet to score a half-century.
Ahead of the power-packed game, Saim Ayub is expected to bring a fresh approach. He has also been dismissed for a duck three times in 19 innings. If Ayub is selected, he is likely to open the batting alongside skipper Babar Azam, who could move to the number three position.
Pakistan will be hoping that these changes can rejuvenate their campaign and help them bounce back from their early setback.
