As the nation is gearing up for the Independence Day Parade, Wagah Border will not be accessible to the people for the flag-lowering ceremony due to construction work at Bab-e-Azadi.
The renovation project is going on, with extensive upgrades to Bab-e-Azadi and its surrounding facilities. The massive construction work is being done to expand parade ground as it will accommodate around 18,000 spectators, and the parking area will be enlarged.
After completion, Bab-e-Azadi structure is said to reach a height of approximately 120 feet.
The renovation work was started earlier this year under the watch of then caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi who started the project to renovate and expand Bab-e-Azadi.
