KARACHI – All banks will remain closed on September 17 (Tuesday) across the country on account of Eid Milandul Nabi, the birth anniversary of holy Prophet (PBUH).
A day earlier, Ruet Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced that Rabiul Awwal Moon was not sighted in Pakistan on Wednesday, and Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) will be observed on September 17. He said the third month of the Islamic calendar will begin on Tuesday, September 6.
Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW) is deeply significant day for faithful as it commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the final prophet of Islam. This occasion is a time for Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s life, teachings, and exemplary character, reinforcing their love and reverence for him.
There is a public holiday in Pakistan on 12 Rabiul Awwal, the day when birth anniversary of the holy Prophet (PBUH) is celebrated across the world.
All public and commercial banks are also closed on 12 Rabiul Awwal. However, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) would issue an official notification in this regard in coming days.
Eid Miladun Nabi serves as a moment for spiritual renewal, encouraging Muslims to recommit to the principles of Islam and the Prophet’s teachings in their daily lives.
