The Sindh High Court on Wednesday heard a petition regarding the recovery of a citizen, Muhammad Ismail, who went missing from Karachi Toll Plaza on October 26 while traveling towards Peshawar. The court issued notices to the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh and other relevant authorities, seeking responses within four weeks.
The petitioner, a resident of New Sabzi Mandi, Karachi, stated that Muhammad Ismail, who was a Imam at masjid and taught Quran to children, had no affiliation with any political party and no criminal record. Despite this, he was forcibly disappeared, and he has yet to be presented in any court. The petition also highlighted the emotional distress caused to the elderly parents, wife, and children of the missing man, who continue to await his return.
The petition seeks a directive from the court for the immediate recovery of the missing citizen and his presentation in court, along with an injunction to prevent the filing of any false charges against him.
