A major power disruption affected large parts of Karachi on Sunday after an Extra High Tension (EHT) line tripped, leading to widespread outages across the city. The power cut impacted several key areas, including Korangi, Lyari, Kharadar, Defence, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Site Area, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, and Jacob Line.
The tripping of the high-tension line caused the shutdown of multiple feeders at various grids, including 49 feeders at the Baldia grid, 33 feeders at the Airport grid, 40 feeders at the Garden grid, and several others across the city. Despite the disruption, the Karachi Electric (KE) spokesperson confirmed that power supply has now been restored to all areas, including Lasbela and Baldia, following the timely resolution of the technical issues.
