The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi recently hosted José Antonio de Ory, Ambassador of Spain in Pakistan, alongside Dr. Lucia Egea, Vice Dean of Executive MBA Programs at IE Business School, for a strategic dialogue aimed at fostering deeper educational and cultural ties. The meeting, organized by IBA’s School of Business Studies (IBA-SBS), took place at the IBA Main Campus and was attended by senior faculty members and academic leaders from IBA.
Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA, and Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Dean of IBA-SBS, welcomed the guests, with various department chairs and professors also participating in the discussions.
Dr. Egea shared valuable insights into IE Business School’s innovative educational approach, particularly its blended learning model and project-based education that prepares Executive MBA students with hands-on problem-solving skills. She also discussed the growing relevance of sports management education and its potential integration into business programs, further enhancing the scope of business education.
The conversation also ventured into the realm of undergraduate business education, where Dr. Egea exchanged best practices and explored avenues to further enhance experiential learning at IBA. Ambassador Antonio de Ory emphasized Spain’s ongoing commitment to strengthening educational and cultural relations with Pakistan, pointing out the importance of such collaborations in nurturing global academic and professional exchanges.
