Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab met with French Consul General Alexis Chahtahtinsky at his office, where they discussed mutual interests, including investment opportunities and cultural exchange between Pakistan and France. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Wahab emphasized that Pakistan, particularly Karachi, offers vast potential for investors. “France can send cultural and academic delegations to Pakistan, and we can showcase our rich heritage in France,” he stated.
He acknowledged France’s historical legacy and noted that Paris is recognized as one of the world’s great cities, home to the iconic Eiffel Tower. Highlighting Karachi’s development efforts, he reiterated his commitment to the city’s progress.
“Pakistan and France have shared strong diplomatic relations, especially during the eras of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto,” he added. The French Consul General expressed optimism about Karachi’s growth, stating, “We are seeing Karachi improve, and our best wishes are with Mayor Wahab in his efforts to serve the city.”
