LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 39 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises in different parts of Lahore last Thursday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 15 buildings in Shadman, and 24 in New Garden Town and Gulberg for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include a private school, pharmacy, saloon, grocery stores, shops and other businesses.
LDA squad demolished four structures in Samanabad and in the surroundings of Canal Bank Road for violation of building bylaws.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman supervised the operations carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police and heavy machinery.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against encroachments, violation of bylaws, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in Lahore.
