LAHORE – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday announced the commencement of direct flights from Lahore to Paris as part of its plan to expand international operations.
A PIA spokesperson said the inaugural flight on this new route will depart from Lahore on June 18, 2025. The airline will operate the Lahore-Paris flight once a week, with departures scheduled every Wednesday.
The PIA, at this moment, runs two weekly direct flights between Islamabad and Paris.
With the addition of the Lahore-Paris route, the airline will increase its direct flights to Paris to three per week.
The national flag carrier also revealed plans to launch flights to other major European cities in the near future. It also aimed to provide greater convenience and meet the growing travel demands of Pakistani passengers.
On April 24, the Privatisation Commission invited expressions of interest for the pre-qualification of potential bidders for the privatisation of 51% to 100% shares of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL).
A report said that the applications for pre-qualification along with a processing fee must be submitted to the Privatisation Commission by June 3, 2025.
The Privatisation Commission issued a public notice to receive these pre-qualification applications.
It may be mentioned here that the Privatisation Commission Board had approved the pre-qualification criteria last week for selection of the potential bidders interested in acquiring 51% to 100% of PIACL shares.
