RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again refused to undergo a polygraph test in connection with the May 9 cases, the sources close to the development said on Thursday.
The sources said that Imran Khan made refusal for the third time.
They said an investigation team from Lahore police, headed by DSP Asif Javed, visited Adiala Jail where Imran Khan is currently incarcerated.
The team had arrived to conduct a polygraph test as part of the ongoing investigation into the violent protests that erupted on May 9, 2023.
Despite repeated attempts over the past three days, Khan declined to take the polygraph, as well as other forensic procedures including photogrammetric and voice matching tests. Following his refusal, the police team returned to Lahore without conducting the tests.
The officials concerned have yet to announce their next course of action in response to the former prime minister’s continued non-cooperation.
The tests, according to the police, are part of the investigation into the events of May 9, when PTI supporters allegedly attacked military and government installations following Khan’s arrest.
