TEHRAN – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tehran today on Monday on a two-day official visit to Iran, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing regional security matters.
Upon his arrival at Mehrabad International Airport, Prime Minister was warmly received by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu, and senior diplomatic officials.

A ceremonial guard of honour was presented by a well-turned-out contingent of the Iranian military. The Prime Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian at the historic Sa’dabad Palace in Tehran. The meeting will include discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation, promoting regional peace, and expressing Pakistan’s appreciation for Iran’s support during recent tensions with India.
The official welcoming ceremony, including a guard of honour, will be broadcast live on Pakistan Television. The Prime Minister and his delegation are also scheduled to hold talks with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, focusing on key regional and international issues.
The visit will conclude with a state banquet hosted by President Pezeshkian in honour of the Prime Minister and his delegation. This visit is seen as a significant step towards deepening Pakistan-Iran relations and reaffirming mutual commitment to peace, stability, and economic collaboration in the region.
