What the SUPARCO Says?
The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has predicted that the there are slim changes of Zilhaj 1446 moon sighting on May 27 evening,
It said the new moon will be born on May 27 at 8:02 am. However, its age at sunset on the same day will be approximately 11 hours and 34 minutes, reducing the changes of its sighting on May 27.
SUPARCO noted that there will be only a brief 37-minute window between sunset and moonset on May 27.
Based on scientific assessments, astronomical calculations, and modern observation data, the commission predicted the moon will be visible on the evening of May 28.
“The visibility of the crescent depends on key factors such as the moon’s age, its angular separation from the sun, altitude at sunset, and atmospheric conditions,” the statement added.
Eidul Adha 2025 Dates
If the moon is sighted on May 27, Muslims in Pakistan will celebrate Eidul Adha on June 6.
If the Zilhaj crescent sighted on May 28, Eidul Adha will fall on Saturday, June 7 across the country.
