The crescent of Zilhajj was first sighted in Indonesia, where local authorities confirmed sighting. Following the confirmation, the Indonesian government officially announced that Eid al-Adha will be observed on Friday.
Meanwhile, no moon sightings have been reported so far in Malaysia, and religious authorities are expected to make an official announcement shortly based on further observation and regional coordination.
Eid ul Adha 2025 Moon
In Brunei Darussalam, Arab media reports indicate that the ZiHajj moon was not sighted, and as a result, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated there on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The differences in Eid dates show traditional practice of moon-sighting that varies by region and visibility conditions. Muslims around the world prepare for this sacred occasion with prayers, charity, and the ritual of animal sacrifice commemorating the devotion of Hazrat Ibrahim AS.
As the blessed days of Hajj begin, millions of Muslims are also preparing for the pilgrimage to Makkah, with the Day of Arafah falling on June 5, 2025, for those following the Indonesian announcement.
