LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar’s son, Junaid Safdar, got engaged again nearly 19 months after his divorce with first wife Ayesha Saif Khan.
Reports said Junaid Safdar’s engagement has been arranged within the family of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
His fiance’s family resides in Lahore, the reports said, adding that both families started talking about the engagement around a month ago.
In 2021, Junaid Safdar had married Ayesha Saif, but in October 2023, Junaid confirmed his separation from his wife.
Who is Junaid Safdar’s Fiance?
Junaid Safdar got engaged to granddaughter of Mian Javed Shafi, who is the cousin of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif. His fiance is the daughter of Usman Javed while the name of the to-be-bride is yet to surface.
Usman Javed’s grandfather was the real brother of Mian Sharif, the father of Nawaz Sharif.
The intimate engagement ceremony was attended by close family members.
Juniad and Ayesha Divorced
Junaid Safdar had married Ayesha Saif Khan in August 2021 in a private ceremony held in London. Ayesha Saif is the daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, a former close aide of Nawaz Sharif and former head of Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Their wedding was attended by close family and friends, and images of the event circulated widely on social media, gaining public and media attention due to the families involved.
In October 2023, Junaid Safdar confirmed through social media that he and Ayesha Saif had mutually decided to part ways. The separation was described as amicable, and no specific reasons were publicly disclosed.
