LAHORE – Eid ul Azha 2025 will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025, across Pakistan, it has been confirmed by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Eidul Azha is key Islamic festival involving prayers, charity, and animal sacrifice. The event is celebrated with religious fervour to commemorate the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
The demand for fresh currency notes is generally lower during Eidul Azha compared to Eidul Fitr, when giving Eidi to children is a widespread tradition. On Eidul Azha, the primary focus shifts towards purchasing sacrificial animals, which often overshadows the practice of distributing Eidi.
However, children still look forward to receiving crisp, new notes, as it adds to the festive excitement and allows them to buy treats, toys, or small gifts. While not as emphasized as during Eidul Fitr, the joy of receiving fresh currency remains a cherished part of the celebration for many young ones.
People can get the bundle of fresh currency notes from the banks or open market. The banks charges no extra amount for giving the new currency notes but in open market, the traders make profit.
