ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rains and windstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), westerly wave prevails over upper part of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, intermittent rains and windstorms are expected in the twin cities and at isolated places in Potohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday. Heavy rains and hailstorms are also expected at few places in Kashmir, Potohar region and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Friday and Saturday, and between 37°C and 39°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34°C and 36°C on Friday and Saturday, and between 35°C and 37°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas. However, rains and windstorms occurred at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Jacobabad, Mohenjo-Daro, Nawabshah and Sibbi remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. The maximum temperature in Dera Ghazi Khan, Dadu, Larkana and Turbat was recorded at 47°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 34 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 50 per cent.
