KARACHI – Saudi Riyal (SAR) weakened by three paisas in open market of Pakistan on Friday as 1 SAR rate against Pak rupee stood at Rs75.20 on 30 May 2025.
The selling rate of the Saudi currency also registered decline as it is being sold for Rs75.78 on fifth day of new business week.
Riyal is the official currency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and it is abbreviated as SAR, or SR. One Riyal is subdivided into 100 halalas.

The Saudi Riyal to Pak rupee exchange rate remains a signicant topic as huge number of overseas Pakistanis reside in Saudi Arabia, contributing to foreign exchange reserves of the country.
Data released by the State Bank of Pakistan shows overseas Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia sent remittances to the tune of $725.4 million during April 2025. The remittances from the Kingdom were down 26% on a monthly basis, and 2% higher than the $712.2 million sent by the expatriates April 2024.
On the other hand, gold prices in Saudi Arabia stood at 4,497 Riyal per tola while the 10-gram is being traded at 3,859 SAR, as of 19 May 2025.
Meanwhile, the total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan stood at $16,636.7 million as of May 23 as compared to $16,648.5 million in week ended on May 16.
Furthermore, the reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan increased to $11,516 million compared to previous $ 11,446.5 million.
Meanwhile, the net foreign reserves held by commercial banks recorded as $5,120.7 million as compared to previous reserves of $5,202 million.
