ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s federal capital Islamabad is witnessing warm and breezy Saturday with temperatures around 29°C, feeling more like 30°C due to humidity and sun exposure.
As Partly sunny skies dominate the day, residents are advised to brace for major shift in weather later today. As of noon. the RealFeel Shade temperature was 27°C. Winds blew from Northeasterly at 25 km/h.
Islamabad Weather Alert
Partly cloudy weather with rain, windstorm, and thunderstorms is expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas later today. Pakistan Meteorological Department warns that isolated heavy falls and hailstorms may also occur at a few locations during this period.
This shift is due to a westerly wave currently affecting the upper parts of the country, and it is likely to persist for the next 24 to 36 hours.

Met Office also warned of securing loose outdoor items. Avoid unnecessary travel during storm conditions. Watch for sudden drops in visibility and slippery roads.
This year, there is a high alert for a strong monsoon season with above-average rainfall expected in many regions. Central and southern areas may receive 20pc more rain, raising risk of floods and landslides, particularly in Sindh and upper KP. Northeastern Punjab and Kashmir could face urban and river flooding due to intense downpours.
Northern KP and GB may get less rain, but rising temperatures could trigger glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs). Current dam levels are stable, and the rainfall could benefit agriculture and water storage.
