SIALKOT – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has secured victory in the by-election for the Punjab Assembly seat PP-52 in Sialkot.
Polling for the provincial assembly seat PP-52 in Sambarial was conducted from 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday. The voting day was marked by intense activity, with occasional clashes among workers and chanting, alongside allegations of rigging.
According to unofficial and preliminary results from all 185 polling stations in PP-52 Sialkot, PML-N candidate Hina Arshad Warraich secured victory with 78,419 votes.
Independent candidate Fakhar Nashat Ghuman, supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is runner-up with 40,037 votes.
PML-N candidate Hina Arshad said the public elected her not for politics but for service. She credited her position to Maryam Nawaz and said, “If the chief minister of Punjab did not trust me, I wouldn’t be standing here.”
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated Hina Arshad Warraich on her victory in the PP-52 by-election, stating that the people of Sambarial had shown great trust which they would fully honor.
She added that PML-N’s win reflects the public’s confidence in the government’s policies.
“The people have recognized those who serve and those who spread discord. Under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, the journey of development is rapidly progressing,” she said.
