ISLAMABAD – A heartbreaking story of the brutal murder of Pakistani Tiktoker shocked the nation as social media users mourn the tragic end of TikTok Star Sana Yousuf, with calls to end violence against women.
On Monday, the 17-year-old Pakistani social media star Sana Yousuf was shot dead inside her Islamabad house on Sunday, in what authorities are calling a targeted attack by a man identified as Umar Hayat aka Kaka.
Sana has over hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok, Instagram, and other sites as she was widely known for her lifestyle content.

The girl opened her eyes on June 2, 2008 in northwestern Pakistan. Her ancestral home was in Chitral region of KP. She has quickly risen as a notable young voice online.
She was brought up in a socially active household and her father is said to be public servant and her mother, Farzana Yousuf, a well-known local activist.
With huge following online, Sana creates content that not only entertains but also educates and inspires, earning recognition in Pakistani media for her digital influence.
Alleged Motive Behind Killing
Sources familiar with the development said accused Umar, a 22-year-old resident of Faisalabad, proposed to Sana over a period of time, but she repeatedly turned him down.
Investigators revealed that the suspect attempted to approach Sana on her birthday but was unsuccessful in making contact. After failed attempt, Umar allegedly carried out fatal shooting. Police apprehended him shortly after the incident, and he is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
Her untimely death shocked fans across Pakistan and sparked renewed conversations about online harassment, gender-based violence, and the safety of young female influencers.
Day of Murder
According to police and eyewitness accounts, she was at home with her aunt when the gunman entered the house armed with a pistol. Before the attack, Sana was heard warning the intruder about security cameras and offered to fetch him water in an attempt to de-escalate. Moments later, she was shot twice in the chest.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. At the time, her mother was out shopping, her father was at work, and her younger brother was in their hometown of Chitral.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed the same evening at Sumbal Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
CCTV footage from the area showed Hayat walking away from the scene, texting on his phone just before fleeing the city via motorway.
The incident reignited conversations about online safety and the dangers faced by women in Pakistan’s digital landscape. Thousands have taken to social media to express grief and call for justice, demanding stronger protections for digital personalities.
