ISLAMABAD – Scattered rains and windstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. Moist currents are also penetrating northeastern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country and very hot in plain areas on Tuesday night and Wednesday. However, intermittent rains and windstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are likely in the twin cities and parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Heavy rains, windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels, etc.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday and between 37°C and 39°C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday and between 35°C and 37°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas. However, rains and windstorms occurred at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sakrand.

Sibbi remained the hottest place in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. The maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 47°C, in Turbat at 46°C, in Jacobabad and Mohenjo-Daro at 44°C, and Khairpur, Nawabshah and Rohri at 43°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
