LAHORE – Heatwaves are expected in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Eid-ul-Azha and the following two days.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. High pressure will likely develop over the country on June 07 (Eid-ul-Azha day) and will grip most parts from June 08
Under these conditions, mainly dry weather is expected in most districts of the province and hot in plain areas on Thursday night and Friday. However, partly cloudy weather with dust raising/ gusty winds are likely in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas.
Lahore Weather Update
On Eid-ul-Azha and the next two days, heatwaves are expected in most districts of the province. Day temperatures will likely remain between 05°C to 07°C above normal levels in upper and central Punjab.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 38°C and 40°C on Friday and between 39°C and 41°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, very hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. The maximum temperature in Multan, Sargodha and Jhelum was recorded at 38°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 31 per cent.
