JEDDAH – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Asim Munir performed Umrah in Mecca during official visit to Saudi Arabia at the time of Hajj.
Pakistan’s top civil-military leaders along with a high-level delegation, performed Umrah during their official visit to Kingdom, invited by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The delegation also included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
The top leadership was accorded a special honor when the door of the Kaaba was opened exclusively for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. Inside the sacred site, the duo offered Nawafil and thanked Allah SWT for victory against India. Special prayers were also made for the unity of Ummah and the oppressed communities in Gaza and Kashmir.

Upon arrival in Jeddah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was warmly welcomed by the Governor of Jeddah, Prince Saud bin Abdullah Jalawi, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and other diplomatic officials.
During the visit, a special meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is scheduled, focusing on strengthening bilateral trade and investment, promoting welfare of the Muslim world, and enhancing regional peace and security.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to express appreciation to the Saudi leadership for their constructive role in de-escalating recent tensions between Pakistan and India.
