RIYADH – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman greeted Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at Mina Palace on Friday during the premier’s official visit to Kingdom.
The two leaders exchanged heartfelt Eid al-Azha greetings and engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing the historic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Their talks focused on boosting cooperation across political, economic, and cultural sectors, reaffirming their commitment to expanding bilateral ties.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed sincere gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s support and hospitality, while the Crown Prince showed enthusiasm for further collaboration between the two nations.
As part of the visit, the Prime Minister attended a special luncheon hosted by the Crown Prince and Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Crown Prince personally welcomed the Prime Minister and accompanied him to the event, which was attended by prominent Middle Eastern leaders, including senior civil and military officials.
The visit also held profound spiritual significance. On Thursday night, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and a high-level delegation, performed Umrah in Makkah. In a rare honor, the doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened for the Pakistani delegation, allowing them to offer special prayers within the sacred site.
The delegation prayed for Pakistan’s economic progress and social welfare, acknowledging the achievements attributed to the “Bunyan-um-Marsoos” initiative. They also made heartfelt supplications for the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine, reflecting Pakistan’s enduring commitment to Muslim solidarity.
Key members of the delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, marking the visit as a significant diplomatic and spiritual journey.
