ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s recent unprovoked attack on Iran, calling it a clear violation of Iran’s sovereignty and international law, PM’s office said Saturday.
In a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the premier expressed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Iran and affirmed its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
He highlighted Pakistan’s position at United Nations Security Council and described Israel’s actions as a serious threat to both regional and global stability. In response, President Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its support and emphasized the need for unity among Islamic countries to face such challenges collectively.
President Asif Ali Zardari and other top leaders also jointly condemned the Israeli aggression and extended their condolences to the Iranian people for the loss of lives caused by the attack.
The developments underscore Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and its support for Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
