ISLAMABAD – The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched a retail-based payment model to disburse quarterly installments to the beneficiaries.
The new disbursement approach comes into effect from the release of BISP Quarter 4 installment. The decision comes amid ongoing heatwave conditions across Pakistan, aiming to ensure a safer and more dignified environment for beneficiaries.
Collect BISP Installment 2025 from Retail Outlets
Unlike the previous campsite-based method, the new system will allow beneficiaries to collect their cash assistance from designated retail outlets equipped with biometric verification systems.
The updated mechanism also ensures greater transparency by providing printed receipts at the time of payment.
Earlier, BISP Additional Secretary Dr. Tahir Noor visited District Khanewal to assess field readiness. During his visit, he reviewed logistical arrangements and held consultations with district teams and partner banks to guarantee smooth implementation of the new system.
Dr. Noor emphasized that the updated procedure aims to make payments more convenient, respectful, and accessible, especially during extreme weather.
He instructed partner banks to ensure all retail outlets are fully functional, with trained staff, biometric devices, network availability, and clearly displayed awareness materials.
He also directed BISP field teams to roll out awareness campaigns to inform all eligible beneficiaries about the new payment procedures.
A day earlier, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held a meeting with Director General Pakistan Post Samiullah Khan, at BISP Headquarters to explore digital payment solutions for disbursing stipends to beneficiaries through biometric verification.
A pilot project will be launched initially, and it was agreed that technical teams from both organizations will soon meet to assess system integration. Chairperson Rubina Khalid emphasized BISP’s intent to collaborate with Pakistan Post in providing convenient and secure digital payment options for over 10 million beneficiaries across the country.
