Overseas Pakistanis are making huge contributions to national economy: Faisal Zahid Malik
Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Hu-man Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hus-sain has said that the government is fully aware of the problems being faced by the overseas Pakistanis and all possible efforts are being made to address these issues.
He said this while talking to Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer, Mr Faisal Zahid Malik who called on him at his office.
Chaudhry Salik said that separate counters have been set up at the National Database And Registra-tion Authority (NADRA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Passport Office, the State Bank, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to take the overseas Paki-stanis’ matters on a priority basis. The affairs of overseas Pakistanis are handled by all these institu-tions, and they will also have direct access to the top-level officials for the resolution of these issues.
“Our government passed a special bill for overseas Pakistanis, and now this law has been promulgated in Punjab as well and the overseas Pakistanis will get a big relief. Besides, special courts will be formed for overseas Pakistanis, which will give a decision within 90 days, and overseas Pakistanis will not have to come to Pakistan for every appear-ance, he said.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain welcoming Mr Faisal Za-hid Malik at his office congratulated him on assum-ing the office of Chairman of the Federal Capital Committee (FCC) of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) recently and hoped under his lead-ership the government-newspapers working rela-tionship would grow better and a better understand-ing of the issues would prevail. Mr Faisal Zahid Malik while thanking the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, highlighted the huge contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to the national economy in the form of remittances. He also drew his attention to-wards the significance of labour mobility for Paki-stan’s economy and the well-being of its people.
“Over 11 million Pakistanis abroad contribute not only to their host economies but also to our national growth through remittances and knowledge ex-change,” he stated. While agreeing with Mr Faisal Malik, Ch Salik Hussain said the overseas Paki-stanis continued to be a vital pillar of national resil-ience, and the government was committed to ensur-ing that their migration journeys are safe, well-governed, and mutually beneficial.”
The Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with des-tination countries and partners. “To this end, Paki-stan has developed a robust legal migration frame-work that facilitates the deployment of our work-force abroad through structured, transparent, and rights-based processes,” Minister Ch. Salik Hussain said. “When managed well, migration benefits all parties, promoting development, economic growth, and shared opportunity,” he said.
