ISLAMABAD – Policy Specialist at Strategic Planning Cell of the National Security Division Faheem Sardar was found murdered at residence in Islamabad on the evening of June 25, sending shockwaves across community in capital.
Cops said Sardar’s body was discovered at his home on School Road in Sector G-6/3, near Covered Market. He had sustained fatal head injuries, and his hands were tied with rope. Early medical reports suggest he was attacked with a sharp object, leading to severe trauma. His body was shifted to Polyclinic Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The incident falls under jurisdiction of Aabpara Police Station. The investigation is in its early stages as forensic team collected evidence from the crime scene, and the police presence continues at both the hospital and the victim’s residence.
Despite high-profile nature of case, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet. Sources indicate that the FIR may be lodged by the family after the funeral, which is scheduled for June 27.
Given Sardar’s sensitive position within a top-level government think tank focused on national security and strategy, suspicions have emerged that the murder may not have been the result of a robbery or personal dispute.
Faheem Sardar was the Managing Director of TANGENT, a think tank dedicated to economic policy and corporate advisory. He previously served as CEO of Askari Securities Ltd for nearly a decade and was an established figure in Pakistan’s financial and strategic sectors.
He also trained directors at the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance and authored several books on leadership, economics, and institutional reform.
