Authorities in Lahore chalked out traffic plans for Muharram processions as mourners continue to gather for religious rallies in Lahore.
The famous Alam procession will be taken out from Old Anarkali and will pass through Rasala Bazaar as Lahore traffic police mapped out a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to ensure smooth flow and public safety.
The procession will follow the traditional route and conclude near Akhri Bus Stop in Islampura. Under direct supervision of the Divisional SP, a deployment of 16 inspectors and 148 wardens has been arranged to manage traffic and maintain order during the event.
Lahore Traffic Plan for Muharram 2025
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore stated that diversions have been enforced at key points including Jain Mandir to Food Street, AG Office to Food Street, and Library Road to Food Street. Traffic from MAO College and PMG Chowk will also be redirected.
The CTO assured the public that regular updates regarding road closures and openings will be provided through the Rasta app, Rasta FM, and official social media platforms. Citizens are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and stay informed to avoid inconvenience.
