LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) generated record revenue during the fiscal year 2024-25.
According to the data shared by LDA on Thursday, different wings of the Authority collected Rs27 billion during 2024-25 as compared with Rs18.5 billion during 2023-24, showing a hefty increase of 44 per cent.
LDA collected Rs7.5 billion through auction/balloting of residential, commercial plots and public utility sites in different housing schemes. LDA’s Town Planning Wing collected Rs12 billion during 2024-25, which is Rs4 billion more than the collections during 2023-24. For the first time, LDA has collected Rs1 billion as a penalty for illegal commercial use.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq said that easing of rules and facilitation of the business community have paved the way for a considerable increase in revenue collection during the last fiscal year. He said that the LDA was introducing reforms on the pattern of the corporate sector to bring ease in doing business. He expressed hope that the LDA revenue collection would further increase during the current fiscal year.
