LAHORE – The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has increase the transfer fee for vehicles by 10 percent with effect from July 2025, local media reported.
The transfer fee has been increased by up to Rs1,100 for vehicles with engine capacity ranging from 650cc to 1800cc.
The transfer of vehicle ownership in Punjab is overseen by the Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department. This process ensures that legal ownership is properly documented when a vehicle is sold or purchased.
To transfer ownership, both buyer and seller must submit required documents, including the original registration book, CNIC copies, sale deed, and a transfer application. The department has introduced online services through the e-Pay and MTMIS systems, allowing users to track and manage transfers more efficiently.
Transfer Fees for 650cc to 1000cc Cars
According to reports, the transfer fee for cars with engine capacity up to 1000cc has been increased by Rs275 with new fees fixing at Rs3,025.
Suzuki Alto, Cultus, Toyota Vitz are among the vehicles which fall in this category.
Transfer Fees for up to 1800cc Vehicles
The transfer fees has been hiked by Rs500 for vehicles between 1000 and 1800 cc, taking the new fee to Rs 6,050.
For vehicles above 1800 cc, the transfer fee has been increased by Rs 1,100, with new rate fixing at Rs12,100.
Transfer Fees for Heavy Transport Vehicles
The transfer fee for Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) has been fixed at Rs6,050 after an increase of Rs550.
Motorcycles Transfer Fee
The Excise department has also jacked up the transfer fee for motorcycles by Rs55, taking it to Rs605.
