KARACHI – The initial post-mortem report of actor Humaira Asghar on Friday revealed that she died approximately 8 to 10 months ago — a shocking development that raises serious questions about how her death went unnoticed for so long.
Humaira’s decomposed body was discovered on July 8 in her flat located in the Ittehad Commercial area of Defence Phase 6. The discovery was made after a court bailiff visited the premises over unpaid rent. Upon receiving no response, the door was forcibly opened, and the actress’s body was found inside.
The case raised concerns about the isolation and safety of individuals living alone, and police continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding her mysterious death.
According to the post-mortem findings, the body was in the final stages of decomposition, with the lower part of the body completely decomposed and signs of insect infestation. The report confirmed that no bones were broken and there were no visible signs of physical trauma.
Due to the advanced stage of decay, determining whether she was subjected to any violence became difficult. The samples of her hair and pieces of her clothing have been sent for chemical analysis to assist further in the investigation.
The remains of Humaira Asghar have been handed over to her family, who have taken her body to Lahore for burial.
